Iván M. Lacámara is a Spanish film and tv composer, and music producer born in 1977 in a family of musicians. He began his musical studies at the age of five under the musical tutelage of his parents. He studied at various music schools and Conservatories, until obtaining the Professional Degree in 1998, combining it with the Grade of Foreign Language Teaching at the University of Zaragoza.
In 1998 he studied a Postgraduate Degree in Sound and Multimedia Engineering at the University of Zaragoza, as well as a Master in Music Production and Recording at the CES Madrid school in 1999.
During adolescence, he began to be interested in music technology, and to use synthesizers and computers to create his own musical pieces. He also makes several forays into pop-rock formations.
His first professional work as a composer for audiovisuals was in the promotions department of Tele 5 in 1997, since then he has composed numerous advertising campaigns and promotions, up to the present day.
Since that time he has composed the soundtrack of series such as: "Un paso adelante”, "Los Hombres de Paco", "Lex", "El Barco", "Luna: El misterio de Calenda", “El accidente“, "Vis a vis“, “El embarcadero", “Madres”, “Sky Rojo”, “Zorro”, “Laura y sus misterios” and the international Netflix’s hit “La casa de papel (Money Heist)“.
Also he composes the music for various short films, as well as arrangements and additional music for various feature films: “Tres metros sobre el cielo“, “Tengo ganas de ti“ and "Kamikaze".
At the beginning of the 2000s he made several tours as a live musician: “Upa dance 2003”, “Circodelia 2001”, “Dante 2000”, as well as the Mérida 2002 Classic Theater Festival with “Troya S.XXI”.
In recent years, it has been required in many talks and masterclasses organized by entities such as Berklee Valencia, SGAE, Loyola University, LabSeries Valencia, Musimagem Brasil, Fimucite, Mosma and Fimucs.
In 2020, “We are the resistance: Money Heist in concert” was premiered at the Tenerife International Film Music Festival (Fimucité), with the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra. Attends both concerts and performs live. This live show was repeated at the Arena Festival 2021 in Poland.
Also in 2020, at the Malaga Film Music Festival (Mosma) a compilation of pieces selected from all the TV series in which it has participated was be premiered ina monographic concert.
In November 2021 the Film Music Festival of Seville (Fimucs) premiered in concert a suite from “La casa de papel - Money Heist”, in January 2022 The Savaria Symphony Orchestra (Bulgaria) premiered in a concert a new suite of “La casa de papel - Money Heist”, and August 2023 Sonafilm premiered a 3rd new suite from “La casa de papel - Money Heist”
In 2018 he was a finalist for the “Camille Awards 2018” with “La casa de papel - Money Heist”, in 2019 he received the award “II Music for Spanish audiovisuals” (Musimagen) for the series “Vis a vis” and the "Jerry Goldsmith Award" for "La casa de papel - Money Heist”.
In 2020 he received the “III Music for Spanish audiovisual” award (Musimagen) for the series “La casa de papel - Money Heist”, and he was a finalist in the “Camille Awards 2020” with “La casa de papel - Money Heist”.
In 2022 he wins the “Camille Awards 2022 (ECSA)” with “La casa de papel - Money Heist”.
Recently received the “VII Music for Spanish audiovisual Award” (Musimagen) for the series “Laura y sus misterios” shared with Iván Palomares.
He currently combines his composition work with the teaching in the degree of Musical creation and production at Loyola University (Sevilla).
